Forsyth Tech’s 2019 Robotics/Cybersecurity GenCyber Camp

Forsyth Tech accepted applications for the 2019 6th and 7th Grade Girls GenCyber Camp from July 15-19th.

Applications closed on June 28th at midnight and the students accepted will be contacted by July 3rd. An email will be sent to those accepted containing a “Pre-Camp Survey” to be completed promptly.  K-12 Cyber Security Initiative

Forsyth Technical Community College is the NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence Regional Resource Center for the Central Eastern Region (NC, VA,WA, KY, DE). In this capacity, Forsyth Tech provides leadership to advance cyber defense education among K-12 students, and instructors in the Central Eastern Region and provides support to all currently designated CAE institutions and new institutions seeking CAE designation.

GenCyber Girls in Technology Camp for rising 7th and 8th grade girls – July 23-27, 2018

The Girl’s Camp will teach students to program Apple Swift Playgrounds  on an iPad, using Apple’s proprietary code. Students will also learn to build a Kamigami using robotics technology. (Participants will be given a Karagomi to take home at the end of the week)

GenCyber Raspberry Pi Camp for rising 7th and 8th grade students – August 6-August 10, 2018

The Raspberry Pi  will teach participants how to program Raspberry Pi( participants will be given a Raspberry Pi to take home at the end of the week).  Participants will also learn Drone exploration and how privacy rules applies to drones.
